Research Assistant is Iterate's suite of AI tools for making sense of open-ended feedback. Open-ended responses hold your richest insights, but reading every one isn't practical. Research Assistant does the reading for you, classifying how customers feel, drawing out more detail when an answer is vague, and summarizing what it all adds up to.
It's made up of three features:
Insights reports
An AI-generated summary of a question's freeform feedback, the key takeaways, how sentiment is shifting, and the outliers worth a look, available as a one-off or on a recurring weekly, monthly, or quarterly schedule.
Follow-up questions
When a respondent's freeform answer is vague, Research Assistant asks a short clarifying follow-up in real time, drawing out the specifics you'd otherwise have to guess at, without you having to anticipate every response in advance.
Sentiment analysis
Automatically classifies every freeform response by sentiment, Positive, Negative, Mixed, or Unsure, and tags the key topics each one mentions. You can see how customers feel and what they're talking about at a glance, and filter to the feedback that matters most right now.

Data Privacy
We take data privacy seriously. Across all Research Assistant features, your survey responses are:
Processed for analysis only: Responses are sent to AWS Bedrock (US region), where they're analyzed in real time by Anthropic's Claude models. They're used only to power the feature you're using, not retained by the AI provider afterward.
Isolated per account: Your data is never mixed or compared across accounts. Even while using shared AI infrastructure, your responses remain logically separated from those of other Iterate customers.
Your survey data is not used to train any AI models, and we only transmit it to trusted processors under strict confidentiality and data-handling agreements. Each feature's article covers any details specific to it.
